Know what a CQC inspector will find — before they arrive
Our mock inspections are carried out by experienced inspectors and follow the CQC's Single Assessment Framework. You get an honest picture of where your service stands, a written report within five working days, and a clear action plan to close the gaps.
assessed against
An honest second pair of eyes on your service
An external audit shows you what your own team has stopped noticing — and gives you time to put it right.
An objective, unbiased view
An impartial look at your service that names the strengths as well as the gaps — including the issues that have become invisible from the inside.
Expert advice from specialists
Guidance from inspectors and clinicians who know the framework and the sector, tailored to your service type and challenges.
Small problems stay small
Risks are identified early, before they turn into costly incidents, complaints or enforcement action.
Non-compliance addressed early
Where you fall short of a regulation, you'll know exactly which one and what corrective action to take.
Evidence of a proactive service
A completed audit and action plan show the CQC you actively monitor and improve your own standards.
Confidence for your staff
Your team has been through it once already, so on inspection day the questions are familiar rather than frightening.
What actually happens during a mock inspection
One day in your service, one day writing it up properly. Have your key documents ready and the inspector will choose what to review, exactly as the CQC would.
Onsite review
Our inspector visits your service and carries out a full mock inspection:
Remote report writing
Away from your service, the inspector writes up the findings in full:
Access we'll need on the day
MAR charts, staff and service user files, policies and procedures, and your compliment, complaint, incident and safeguarding logs. The Registered Manager should be available so we can share early feedback in person.
Assessed exactly the way the CQC assesses you
We work to the Single Assessment Framework introduced in 2024 — the five key questions plus the 34 quality statements and evidence categories that replaced the old KLOEs.
Risk, medicines, safeguarding and premises — is anyone coming to harm?
Assessment, consent, nutrition and outcomes — is the care doing what it should?
Dignity, kindness and involvement — how does it feel to be cared for here?
Person-centred planning, choice and complaints — does the service adapt?
Governance, culture and oversight — does leadership know its own service?
Observations
Watching how staff interact with the people you support, to see whether care is genuinely compassionate and respectful.
Documentation review
Care plans, risk assessments and incident reports checked for accuracy and compliance with CQC standards.
Interviews
Staff, service users, families and carers, so the picture reflects more than one perspective.
Feedback, a report, and support until you're there
Verbal feedback, same day
A meeting with management before we leave, covering our initial findings across safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led — including any regulations you are currently not meeting.
A written report within five working days
The full inspection report, with practical guidance to improve your care practice and a complete action plan you can work through.
Ongoing support and monitoring
Where it's needed, we keep supporting you until the standards are met — including further monitoring visits.
“We recently had a mock inspection conducted by Caring For Care, and we were thoroughly impressed with the level of detail and professionalism throughout the process. Both John and Syma were exceptionally knowledgeable and supportive, offering valuable insights and guidance. We highly recommend their services to any care provider seeking to improve standards and ensure compliance.”

Questions managers ask us first
Which documents should we have ready? ▼
Our inspections are person-centred and align with the CQC's 'I statements', so we look at the paperwork that shows what daily life is really like:
What does a mock inspection cost? ▼
Every service is different, so the cost depends on your service type and size. We'll have a short conversation about your setting, the number of beds or service users, staff numbers and your current situation, then give you a full and accurate quote — free and with no obligation.
Is this based on the current framework? ▼
Yes. We work to the Single Assessment Framework introduced in 2024, which replaced the Key Lines of Enquiry. That means the five key questions plus the 34 quality statements and the evidence categories the CQC now uses to assess services consistently across all sectors.
Who carries out the inspection? ▼
An experienced inspector who knows the framework and your type of service. They interview your manager and staff, review records, observe care in practice, and give feedback to management before leaving site.
Will it disrupt the running of our service? ▼
No more than a real inspection would. The onsite day runs alongside normal operations — we speak to staff as they work and review records as they are. All we ask is that your Registered Manager is available and the key documents are accessible.
Find out where you stand, while you still have time to act
Tell us your service type, size and current situation and we'll come back with a full, accurate quote — free, with no obligation.
