Propulse Noots Ear Tank – Reusable Noots

The Propulse Reusable Noots Ear Tank is ideal for ear irrigation and other cerumen removal procedures.

The Propulse Reusable Noots Ear Tank is a tool that helps healthcare professionals clean their ears. The healthcare professional can use it to remove earwax or other substances if they block your ears.

When using the Noots Ear Tank, the healthcare professional will fill the tank with warm water and insert a small tube into your ear. The water will flow through the tube and into your ear, helping to flush out any blockages or buildup.

The ear tank is made of high-quality materials that are durable and easy to clean. The Propulse Ear Tank is designed for multiple uses. This makes it more environmentally friendly than single-use tools.

Ear irrigation can be a little uncomfortable, but it shouldn’t be painful. You may feel a sensation of pressure or fullness in your ear during the procedure, but this is normal.

The healthcare professional will work carefully to ensure that the procedure is safe and effective.

If you have concerns about your ear health or are experiencing symptoms like pain or hearing loss, it’s important to talk to a healthcare professional.

They can help you determine the best course of treatment. This may include ear irrigation using the Noots Ear Tank.

How to use noots ear tank

The Noots Ear Tank is a disposable container used for ear irrigation, often alongside an irrigation system like the Propulse G5 or NG.

Here’s how to use it safely and effectively:

Before you start:

  1. Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  2. Gather your supplies: You’ll need the Noots Ear Tank, warm water (body temperature), irrigation system with tubing, irrigator tip, and a towel.
  3. Prepare the irrigator: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to fill the reservoir with warm water. Avoid hot water or any solutions other than plain water.
  4. Attach the irrigator tip: Secure the appropriate tip for your needs (adult or child) to the tubing provided with your irrigation system. Ensure a tight fit to prevent leaks.

Ear irrigation using the Noots Ear Tank:

  1. Position the patient: Have the patient sit comfortably with their head tilted slightly to the side and the affected ear facing upwards. Place a towel around their neck to catch any water.
  2. Fill the Noots Ear Tank: Hold the tank by the base and slowly pour warm water from the irrigator reservoir until it’s about three-quarters full. Don’t overfill.
  3. Position the tank: Place the open end of the tank gently over the affected ear, ensuring a good seal but not pressing too firmly.
  4. Start irrigating: Turn on the irrigation system and hold the tank securely. The water will flow through the tubing and tip, gently flushing the ear canal.
  5. Continue irrigating: Continue for a few seconds until the water runs clear or for the recommended time by your healthcare professional. You may need to refill the tank during the process.
  6. Remove the tank and tip: Turn off the irrigator and carefully remove the tank and tip. Dispose of the ear irrigation cup (noots) safely after each use.

Aftercare:

  1. Dry the ear: Tilt the head to the side again and allow the water to drain out. Gently pat the outer ear dry with a clean towel.
  2. Do not insert anything into the ear: No cotton swabs, hair dryers, or other objects should be placed inside the ear canal for 24 hours after irrigation.
  3. Monitor for any complications: Be aware of any signs of infection, such as pain, redness, or discharge from the ear. Consult your doctor if you experience any concerns.

Additional tips:

  • Warm the water to body temperature before irrigating to avoid discomfort.
  • Do not use the irrigator if you have an ear infection, a ruptured eardrum, or a history of ear surgery.
  • Consult your doctor before using the irrigator if you have any underlying medical conditions, such as diabetes or a weakened immune system.
  • Never share irrigator tips or Noots Ear Tanks between patients to prevent the spread of germs.

Who can use Noots Ear Tanks:

  • Adults: Generally safe for healthy adults with no ear concerns.
  • Children: Can be used for children under proper supervision from a healthcare professional, especially with a child-sized Noots Ear Tank available.
  • People with mild earwax buildup: Effective for removing moderate wax buildup without irritation.

Who should not use Noots Ear Tanks (Ear Irrigation Cup):

  • People with ear infections: Irrigation can worsen an existing infection.
  • People with a ruptured eardrum: Water entering the middle ear can cause damage.
  • People with a history of ear surgery: Consult your doctor about safe ear care methods.
  • People with chronic ear conditions: May need professional or alternative methods for wax removal.
