Molly
Health and Social Care Trainer
Hi I’m Molly. Before becoming a trainer, I was a care home manager. Over the years I managed a wide range of care services including, nursing and residential homes for the elderly, dementia care and adults with learning disabilities. I gained a training qualification in 2018 so that I could use my extensive knowledge and experience to teach others in the health and social care sector and for the organisations I worked for.
My first role was supporting and managing homes for adults with learning disabilities in their own homes.
I quickly advanced my career after moving to Somerset and began working for Somerset Council learning disability service. I gained Qualifications in health and social care with this organisation over the next 17 years, and advanced in my career to becoming a qualified registered manager.
After leaving Somerset Council, I moved into elderly care and managed, nursing and residential care homes.
In my role as a registered manager, I have extensive experience in training staff in a number of subjects relevant to the carer role, management of health and safety in line with legislation and health and safety inspectors, creating, writing and implementing policies, crisis plans, procedures and guidelines.
I have extensive understanding of CQC regulations, Key lines of Enquiry, government regulations and fundamental standards, I managed a large budget, and experience in the recruitment process from end to end.
I managed and led safeguarding investigations with my experience and knowledge in MCA and DoL’s development in the care settings, completing internal investigations and disciplinary hearings as investigating officer, managing staff through meaningful supervision and appraisal meetings with excellent record of staff improvement and development.
I am a proud leader in promoting a person-centred approach, and have always had a real passion in inspiring and teaching.
I have continued to attend training and assessing qualifications in my own time to allow me to expand my career in the training arena:
- Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
- Level 3 award in Education and Training
- Apprenticeship and Diploma Level 5 Management in Health and Social Care
- NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care
