3-day First Aid at Work Course:
- Unit 1: Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
- Unit 2: Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the Workplace
- Duration: 3 days | Level 3
Successful candidates will be certified as designated first aiders, ready to handle workplace incidents with confidence.

Course Content
Unit 1 covers the following topics:
- Roles and responsibilities of a first aider;
- Cross infection;
- Recording incidents & actions;
- Use of available equipment;
- Assessing an incident;
- Unconscious casualties (including seizure);
- Cardio pulmonary resuscitation;
- Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator;
- Choking;
- Wounds and bleeding;
- Shock;
- Minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters);
Unit 2 covers the following topics:
- Secondary survey;
- Injuries to bones, joints and muscles (including spinal injuries);
- Suspected head and spinal injuries;
- Chest injuries;
- Burns and scalds;
- Eye injuries;
- Sudden poisoning;
- Anaphylaxis;
- Major illnesses (heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma & diabetes);
- Serious bleeding including:
- Embedded objects;
- Sucking chest wound;
- Amputations;
Certification
Upon successful completion, candidates receive the Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate, a nationally recognised qualification that meets the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.
The certificate is valid for three years, after which a First Aid at Work Requalification course is required to renew it.
Accreditation
This course is fully accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) and delivered in accordance with the standards outlined in the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.
FAIB accreditation guarantees that the training meets strict quality and compliance requirements, providing employers with the assurance that their first aiders are qualified to a nationally recognised standard.

First Aid at Work Requalification:
This First Aid at Work Requalification covers the full FAW syllabus in a shorter, 12‑hour (2‑day) format. It meets the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 and includes all required FAW content and assessment.
- Duration: 2 days | Level 3
Note: If a certificate expires, the first‑aider is no longer competent and must retrain; the two‑day course is allowed, but if it’s been over a month since expiry, the full three‑day FAW may be more suitable. Employers choose which option is appropriate.

Unit 1 covers the following topics:

Emergency First Aid at Work
Successful candidates can act as workplace first aiders, and this EFAW course is ideal for low‑risk environments identified through a needs assessment. It meets the Health & Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 and follows the required EFAW syllabus.
The course lasts one day (around 6 hours) and also counts as Unit 1/Day 1 of the full three‑day First Aid at Work qualification
