Vaccination and Immunisation Training
Vaccination & Immunisation Training is a full-day course for healthcare workers who give vaccines. It teaches safe ways to give injections, how to store vaccines correctly (cold chain), and how to spot diseases like flu and measles that can be prevented with vaccines. The course includes both classroom learning and hands-on practice.
You will learn how to prepare and give vaccines, get consent from patients, answer questions, and keep good records. The training follows UK health rules and looks at the law and the National Immunisation Schedule. It is good for nurses, healthcare assistants, and pharmacists who are new to vaccines or need a refresher. You don’t need past qualifications, but working under supervision after training is advised to build confidence. You’ll get a certificate when you finish, and it’s best to update your training each year to follow the latest NHS guidelines.
Vaccination and Immunisation Training gives healthcare workers – like nurses, pharmacists, and senior care workers – the knowledge and skills they need to give vaccines safely and handle vaccination events.
This course helps you learn how to give vaccines to both adults and children for different illnesses.
You will also be taught how to spot and deal with anaphylaxis (a serious allergic reaction) and how to give CPR in an emergency.
