Mary Carter

Clinical Trainer

Hi – I’m Mary

I have been qualified as a nurse for over thirty years and have varied experience in a number of acute care settings. I realised I loved the educational part of nursing just as much as caring for patients and moved into a number of clinical tutoring roles.

I then moved into Higher education and worked as a senior lecturer in adult nursing at the University of Suffolk, gaining my Masters in Interprofessional Healthcare Education. I teach across a number of clinical and mandatory subjects and have loved supporting all the learners I have met along the way.

  • Hobby: My love of adventure sports has had to be tempered over the last few years but you will still find me, my husband, and our two teenage daughters whizzing down a mountain on skis.
  • Favourite Music: Throw in some classical, hard rock, disco, and pop and I’m happy😊
  • Favourite Movie: Too many to mention and my tastes are all over the place! I will always have a soft spot for The Shawshank Redemption and the Sound of Music though!
