FAQs

Where do you deliver this training?

We can deliver this training at your premises, as long as it's within the UK. Also, we have our own venues in Stoke on Trent, London, Swindon, Epsom & York if you need access to a training room (additional charges will apply). We can also deliver this training virtually using Zoom. However, sessions delivered via Zoom will be theory only and will not include any practicals.

Will attending this training make me competent?

In short, no. No classroom-based training course can give you full competency - be very wary of anyone claiming they can. Our classroom-based assessments are designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and workplace competency. We will be sure to provide you with the relevant workbooks and competency proformas to be observed and signed off within the workplace according to your local policy.

What equipment will you use for training?

We have a variety of different training equipment and tools available. The training will be relevant and transferable. However, if you have a specific requirement for a particular type of equipment, please make this clear during the booking process, and the team will ensure this is provided. Alternatively, we can use your own equipment for training.

Staying current helps ensure you’re well-prepared to protect vulnerable individuals.

2. Can I take this course if I’m new to safeguarding training?

This course is designed for those who have already completed a Safeguarding Train the Trainer course. If you’re new to safeguarding training, we recommend starting with an introductory course before taking this refresher.

3. Are there any prerequisites for this refresher course?

To attend this refresher course, you must have previously completed a Safeguarding Train the Trainer course. This course is intended to update and refresh your existing knowledge and skills. Also note that a main course requires you to have experience in Safeguarding and must have completed a level 2 training for both children and adults.

4. Is safeguarding training annual refresher mandatory?

While annual refresher training is not always a legal requirement, it is strongly recommended to keep safeguarding practices up-to-date and effective.

Many organisations, especially in healthcare and social care, ask for yearly safeguarding training to meet rules and keep staff skills sharp. Always check your organisation’s policies to know what is required.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Caring for Care for the recent virtual safeguarding training provided to our team via Zoom. The course was held on two dates, 02.02.2021 and 09.02.2021, to ensure we could include the entire team. The course facilitator, Sarah, had a wealth of experience in Health and Social Care, which was clearly demonstrated throughout the session. The training was delivered at a comfortable pace, was very informative, and fully interactive - John Fields
